THOUGHT GROUP CHILE

Thought Group Chile, is an architecture and urban planning office for the development of large residential, educational, industrial Real Estate and Renewable Energy Infrastructure projects, such as Green Hydrogen Ports in Patagonia, Photovoltaic and Wind Farms, and Desalination Plants. In addition, we are specialists in the reconstruction of destroyed cities.

 

Original named Thought, this office was founded in 2012, by its Director, Architect from Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile and Urban Planner from Architectural Association School of Architecture, London, UK, Cristián Alfredo Wittig Grell.

We are an International Consulting Expert Chilean Team in the development of Anti-Seismic Creative-Innovative Architectural and Urban Design, with a marked intellectual and creative artistic emphasis, for the design and construction of resistant and resilient buildings, public spaces, Civil and industrial Infrastructure against earthquakes and tsunamis.


From this experience, we are also experts in the reconstruction processes of cities destroyed by the action of wars and natural disasters around the world.


We have more than 12 years of full experience and we have participated in the development of more than 1,100,000m2 of anti-seismic architectural and engineering designs for industrial, port, renewable energy, Real Estate, sports large complex, heritage, and civil infrastructure projects in Chile and abroad.

Currently, we are working on the reconstruction of numerous localities in three different countries and we are advising two countries on the conservation and protection of their cities.

Cristian Wittig

CEO 

Architect from Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile and Urban Planner from Architectural Association School of Architecture, London, UK.

 

Director Thought Group Chile, Member of the International Advisory Board of the Irpin Reconstruction Summit Foundation.

 

He has developed multiple architecture and infrastructure projects for the mining, railway, port, industrial, renewable energy and real estate areas in Chile and South America, and has been an academic in Architecture and Literature schools at the most prestigious universities in Chile.

 

Currently, he is developing from Thought Group Chile, a series of architecture and urban planning projects for several cities in Ukraine , Türkiye and Chile.

Maria Angelica Muñoz

Environmental Chemistry

Maria Angelica Muñoz has a degree in Environmental Chemistry (UCSC, Chile) and currently serves in the Chilean Navy as both Chemistry and NDT through X-Ray Advisor.

As part of her undergraduate studies, she participated in project "Seasonal changes of the organochlorine pesticides OCPs in surface waters of Patagonian fjord", were implemented methodologies to determine contaminant agents dissolved in Chilean Patagonian waters.

She's currently MSc "Environmental Sciences" student at UCSC and member of "Aidboom Consultants ltda" supporting "Thought Group Chile" in regard to soil and water contamination studies.

Mikhailo Sapon

Chief of Urban Planning and Architecture of the Irpin City Council

Head of the Department of Urban Planning and Architecture of the Irpin City Council, a vision architect for the “Irpin Reconstruction Summit”.

 

​On behalf of the Irpin mayor's office and as a representative of its citizens, its main architect Mikhailo Sapon will be on the jury for this competition, leading the difficult and tough task of rebuilding the city of Irpin.

Iryna Yarmolenko

Advisor to the Mayor of the City of Irpin and Project Manager of the IRS.

Advisor to the mayor of Irpin, representative of the Association of Cities of Ukraine, and the Council of European Regions and Municipalities.


The head of the "IRS" - The Irpin Reconstruction Summit - project office is a model for the recovery of Ukrainian cities, currently the city of Irpin, 70% of which was damaged or destroyed by the war against Ukraine.

Hugo Fuentealba

Chilean Navy Officer

Hugo Fuentealba is a Chilean Navy Officer, MSc "Explosives Ordnance Engineering" from Cranfield University (UK) and Military Engineer from "Academia Politécnica Militar" (Chilean Army).

He has more than 9 years of experience in Manipulation and Demilitarization of Explosives Ordnances and Ammunition, which is combined with knowledge regarding stockpile management and weapon systems lifecycle.

He performed the thesis"development of a system to quantify emissions derived from open-air burning of Explosives", study that constitutes the beginning of his desire to be an expert about Environmental impact of Military Activities on ecosystems.

 

He is currently a member of "Aidboom consultans ltda" supporting "Thought Group Chile" in establishing post invasion environmental impact scopes on Ukraine's territory.

Victoria Belim

International Consultant

Victoria Belim is a writer, journalist and translator of Persian literature.

 

Born in Ukraine, she grew up in Chicago and now lives in Brussels, Belgium.

 

Belim is the author of The Rooster House, a memoir about her family and Ukraine, which has been translated into 16 languages. As a journalist, she covers all topics related to art and culture.

 

Since 2010, she has been writing for the Financial Times’s How to Spend It magazine. Her work has also appeared in the New York Times Magazine, Elle, and Marie Claire, as well as on her own website:

Rosario Montes Prieto

Restorer and Museologist. Consultant in Cultural Heritage and Museum Management.

Graduate in Fine Arts and with a Postgraduate Degree in Restoration from the University of Chile, she specialized in Mexico and Spain, where she completed a Master's Degree in Cultural Heritage at the Complutense University. 

With over 25 years of experience in the cultural sector in Latin America and Europe, she has developed conservation, collection management and preventive conservation projects in museums, foundations, public administration, multinational companies and private collectors.

She has also handled planning, prospecting, development and execution of cultural, museographic, packaging and transport proposals; presentation of public tenders; registration, cataloging and restoration of works of art; management of temporary exhibitions.

Camila Rivera

Chief of Architecture Department

Chilean architect and Master in Sustainable Architecture and Energy from the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile. She has worked since 2018 at Thought Group developing architecture and sustainability projects.

 

Since 2022, she has been the head of the Architecture Department, working as  assistant to the academic sector of the office and contributing to the development of projects in Chile and for the reconstruction of Ukraine, Turkey.
